Hazardous Weather, Feb. 16-19

As a result of Metro’s announcement and out of an abundance of caution, the Davidson County Clerk’s Office will be closed February 16-19.  We will follow Metro’s lead as it relates to the closure of non-essential buildings, for the safety of our employees and the public, and encourage residents to stay home safely.  Any questions can be directed here on our website.

Registration Renewal Reminder Postcard

Starting in January 2021, the TN Department of Revenue will send postcards to motor vehicle registrants to remind them of upcoming renewal dates. The postcards will replace traditional letters and will reduce state mailing expenses by an estimated $500,000.

Emissions tests are still required in Davidson County.  More information can be found by clicking here.

Emissions Testing Information

  • Please visit www.nashvillevip.org for more information on the reopening of emission testing centers in Davidson County.

 

  • Vehicles with an expiration date of March, April, or May 2020 will NOT be required to have an emissions test if renewed prior to 6/15/2020.  Any renewal, regardless of expiration date, processed after 6/15/2020 will be required to obtain an emissions test.

 

  • Effective 6/1/2020 All registrations that expire June 30, 2020 and thereafter (July, August, September, etc.) are required to have an emissions test.

  • If your registration expires in March, April or May, you have until JUNE 15, 2020 to drive legally. This includes temporary operating permits, dealer drive out tags, and motor carrier temporary permits expiring between March 12 and May 31, 2020.
