Skip the line! Renew your tags at a kiosk.

Jan 18th, 2019

For your convenience, you may renew your Davidson County tag and get your decal at various locations, using one of our new Registration Renewal Kiosks.  Customers in Bellevue, Madison, Green Hills, Southeast Davidson County and Downtown Nashville can enjoy the ease of renewing their motor vehicle registrations with a few simple clicks.

To begin the renewal process, a customer may scan a renewal notice received in the mail, old registration form containing a barcode or a printed email renewal notice.  Credit or debit cards are the only form of payment accepted at the kiosk.  Once the transaction is completed the kiosk prints a Motor Vehicle Registration and decal.

In order to use the kiosk, customers must be Davidson County residents and the vehicle must have been registered in Davidson County for at least one year.  Renewal must be within 90 days of expiration date.  The kiosk does not allow a change of address.

The kiosk was designed with data security in mind and protects customers’ private information.  At no time during the transaction is any of the customer’s personal information displayed.

“Kiosks make the process of renewing your tags easy and convenient,” said Brenda Wynn, Davidson County Clerk. In this technological age, a customer can skip the line with this fast, easy and secure procedure in this one, two, three process that takes about two minutes.  You receive your decal and registration instantly.

One new downtown user said, “I tried it and it was great. I was in and out in no time.”

A total of six kiosks are located throughout the county, inside 3 County Clerk’s offices and in 3 designated libraries.

In 2015, the Davidson County Clerk’s Office installed its first Registration Renewal Kiosk, generating more than 2,250 transactions in that year. The numbers are predicted to increase with the accessibility of more self-serving renewal kiosks. This decal renewal process is one of ease and more convenient to all Davidson County residents.

“We continually strive to offer excellent service and look at technology for ways to improve the experience for the citizens of Davidson County,” said Wynn.
