Decals on Demand

Jul 22nd, 2014

Davidson County’s Certificate of Vehicle Registration has changed.  The registration is smaller and includes a decal with your license plate number printed directly on it.  Old decals should be removed and the new decal should be affixed to the license plate in the upper right hand corner.  Once the decal is affixed to the plate it should not be peeled off for repositioning as the decal may tear.

Wheel Tax Decal Notice

Dec 4th, 2013

Legislation was approved on December 3, 2013 which allows the issuance of only one official decal (instead of two) as proof of payment of the motor vehicle regulatory license fees.  Therefore, customers will receive only one 2015 decal which indicates you have paid both state and local fees. The word “Purchased” should appear in the “County Sticker No.” location on your new registration form.  If receiving a military exemption from the tax, the home of record state will appear in that same location.

The Metropolitan Police Department is aware of this change.

The 2015 decal should be affixed to your license plate in the upper right hand corner.
